Final Fitting

It is coming around fast, the tableau coming up just sound the corner and we are finishing of our dresses with the final elements, and really putting a good finish on these costumes. From the over locked seams to the bias binding to hold in and cover up fraying edges.

In this fitting it was good to be a bit more hands on and to be in charge of fitting the costume, as well as fitting in the sleeves and the extra twirl frill to the bottom of one of the sleeves.

This was our lat chances to get designs and finishing finalised, from ribbons, to sleeves frills. It was also our last chance to get the costume on our actors and made sure they fit the actors correctly, the next time these costume will be on out actors will be when they are in the tableau, and by then it will be difficult to edit the costumes.

The fabric draped beautifully around the skirt and the gathering on the under skirt, gave the perfect effect.

This time i did not forget the sleeves, i did nearly forget the bum pad, but the actor thankfully reminded me before we went to the fitting room.

It went very smoothly and we had some shoes that the designer said a massive yes to.

The only comments we may have had, were that the orange ribbon in the pictures above were too bright for the costume, and would not fit along side the family of all of the other costume.

Other than that, both us and the designer were very pleased with how the costume was progressing, and we were ready to get back to the dress and get the costume finished.

As a quick up date, by this fitting here is how out family of costumes looked:

The only costume from the picture above that was not constructed by the first year costume students was the man's costume, this was soured from the costume store in university.
